  • How important is social media in your life? Do you use it? How often do you check it? How does it impact your life, or not?

3. Article: "The Secret Social Media Lives of Teenagers"
  • Pre-reading steps/Set purpose for reading:
    • What is the author's claim(s) and how does she organize her article and use rhetorical devices to present, explain and support it/them?
  • Read and annotate using annotation guide/types of evidence
  • Chunk the text- divide it into sections by what the author "does"- think introduction, shifts, claims, types of evidence, rhetorical devices, conclusion (saying and doing)
